Start the weekend with some new Nintendo Switch eShop discounts.

It’s been wall-to-wall next-gen around here this week. It’s all good fun, but sometimes you just need to escape the chaos, retreat to the quiet room, and play some Nintendo Switch. And if you need something new to play, here’s an update on some of the latest eShop discounts.

The November Games Under $15 sale in North America features some excellent off-beat games, such as the thumping drumming game Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! and the cult classic roll ’em up, Katamari Damacy ReRoll. Our pick is the HD remaster of GameCube puzzler Mr. Driller DrillLand. This excellent, vibrant, and addictive puzzle game never made it out of Japan in 2002. Don’t miss it on Switch.

For our other recommendations, we’re plucking games from the current crop of eShop discounts in Europe. Ninety per cent of them are also available in other regions.

As our lead image suggests, another GameCube classic is our top pick. Resident Evil 4 is the standout game from the series, but the first game, 0, 5, 6, and both Revelations spinoffs are also on offer.

The Switch doesn’t have Valhalla, but Assassin’s Creed III Remastered and Assassin’s Creed: The Rebel Collection are both packed with content and perform well on Nintendo’s system. And if you’re looking a compelling story, cyberpunk thriller State of Mind and beloved narrative adventure To The Moon also come recommended. The wonderful Abzû is also essential, and now down to a couple of bucks.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
