The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD headlines this week’s lineup of new Nintendo Switch eShop releases.
Nearly ten years after it debuted on the Nintendo Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword gets an HD upgrade for the Switch.
Although it was acclaimed on release, the game now has a mixed reputation. A multitude of annoyances – mostly fixed for the upgrade – and divisive motion controls meant the game’s best moments were overlooked. But, its dungeons are among the best in the series, and its epic story is told with panache and humour. If the retooled control options are up to scratch, this underrated Zelda adventure will be a pleasure to revisit.
Induction is a simple game from a visual perspective, but don’t let that fool you. Bryan Gale’s abstract puzzler uses time manipulation and paradoxes across 50 increasingly complex conundrums. The game found an appreciative audience following its 2017 PC debut, and it should be a perfect fit for Switch owners who like small, intricate puzzle pastimes.
Other new Nintendo Switch eShop releases include Guild of Darksteel, Worms Rumble, and Lotus Reverie: First Nexus.
