Total War: Warhammer III is released today for macOS.

Total War: Warhammer III is the third of Creative Assembly’s Total War games set in Games Workshop’s Warhammer Fantasy universe.

The game’s mix of turn-based strategy and real-time tactics was widely acclaimed on its PC debut in February. However, a prevalence of technical issues took the shine off its release. The Mac version comes via the talented porting team at Feral Interactive and will hopefully be more stable.

Here’s how Creative Assembly describes the game:

“Warhammer III plunges players into a cataclysmic power struggle between mortals and daemons with each aiming to save or exploit the power of a dying god. Featuring seven diverse playable races – including the video-game debuts of Grand Cathay and Kislev – alongside ground-breaking new features such as the Realm of Chaos campaign, eight-player multiplayer, and the customisable RPG-like Daemon Prince Legendary Lord.”

The game also includes a Prologue campaign designed to onboard new players or those who need a refresher of the franchise’s core mechanics.

Total War: Warhammer III requires Apple Silicon and is officially supported on all Macs with an Apple M1 chip. Here are the game’s system requirements.
