Sega is bringing a Jumbo Edition of critically-acclaimed management sim Two Point Hospital to consoles.
It’s pleasing to report that Two Point Hospital is a bona fide success story. The game has reached over three million players since launch in 2018 and received four big content expansions on PC.
To date, only two of those expansions – Bigfoot and Pebberley Island – have so far been released on console. Sega has now confirmed that the sci-fi-themed Close Encounters and green-fingered Off the Grid updates will finally come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. And the whole lot will be released as the Two Point Hospital: Jumbo Edition.
The Jumbo Edition includes the core game, all four content expansions, and two bonus items packs. Altogether that makes a total of 27 hospitals to manage and 189 illnesses to cure.
One of the nice things about Two Point Hospital is its off-beat sense of humour. It’s something the expansions – which feature regionally specific illnesses – really run with. The wintery location of Pointy Mountains, for example, includes such ailments as Cold Shoulder, Bard Flu, and Aurora Snoreali. And the Off the Grid expansion features the delightfully monikered Root Snoot. Sounds painful.
The Jumbo Edition will be released digitally for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One on March 5, 2021. It’s also playable on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility. A physical edition will also be released on the same day, but only for PS4 and Switch.
