The UK video game chart top forty features 15 games published by Nintendo, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons at No.1.

Due to a lack of new releases, there has been very little movement in GFK’s video game chart of physical software sales in the UK.

Nintendo continues to be the big winner so far this year, despite software sales being down across the board compared to December. 15 Nintendo-published games are in the top forty with five games in the top ten.

Top of the pile is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No.2, Ring Fit Adventure at No.6, the Switch version of Minecraft at No.7, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe at No.9.

Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2021 – another big Switch seller – is in third spot, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla continues to perform well in fifth.

Outside of the top ten, Cyberpunk 2077 slips a further five places to No.20, and PGA Tour 2K21 moves up eight positions to No.18.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
