The Coalition introduces the opening 20 minutes of Gears of War 4. Get ready to roadie run.
The opening sequence of the game – called the Prologue – features all the usual Gears shenanigans plus important moments from the franchise’s past, including a key battle from the Pendulum Wars and Emergence Day itself.
The footage is introduced by The Coalition’s studio head, Rod Fergusson, and the game’s lead campaign designer, Matt Searcy.
“The Prologue was about a few things for us,” says Searcy. “One of the things we wanted to do was drop you right into the action. With a game like Gears it’s really important that we get you in there. And the way our story went it was a good idea for us to use it as a history lesson. So we’re going to take the player back in time to some key battles from the past of the Gears of War franchise.”
Gears of War 4 is released on 11 October on Xbox One and Windows 10. The DLC pack includes character skins for Old Man Marcus, Zombie Dom, and Tomorrow Anya.
