What sort of equipment will you need to cobble together to play Metro Exodus on PC?
First things first, a message to the guy on Twitter who keeps responding to our system requirements posts with replies like “LOL just get a PS4” – this is a test.
If you’re actually reading these posts, then hopefully you’ll see this message (that we’ve included especially for you) and come up with a new “joke”. If you’re not reading them, then we’re going to have to block you because you’re getting a bit annoying.
Right, now onto the actual details.

There are, as usual, a couple of interesting caveats to note in the Metro Exodus system requirements.
Firstly, there are some minimum windows build versions required, both to play the game (and to enable RTX features on Nvidia’s new ray tracing graphics cards):
- Windows 10 RS5 (Build 1809) or newer and DirectX 12 (to enable Nvidia RTX features
- Win 8.1 requires build 9600 or newer
- Win 8 requires build 9200 or newer
- Win 7 requires SP1 or newer
Presumably those are all 64-bit operating systems, too, though the press release doesn’t actually specify.
And secondly, the most unusual omission from these system requirements is the install size. It’s very unusual for that not to be included. According to the Steam listing for Metro Exodus, the install size is 59GB, but we’ve asked the PR team to clarify for us before we add that to the specs for definite.
Metro Exodus launches for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on February 15, 2019.
