Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is coming to iOS, Android, and Nvidia Shield in May.
DotEmu and Playdigious are bringing Lizardcube’s fabulous remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap to smart devices on May 30, 2019.
The Sega Master System original, Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, was Thumbsticks’ Game of the Year in 1989, and was in the running once again when it was remade for PC and console in 2017.
Lizardcube’s thoughtful update features beautiful hand-drawn artwork, a stunningly re-orchestrated soundtrack, and the addition of Wonder Girl as a playable character. However, despite the masterful makeover, the Master System version is also playable and available at the touch of a button.
In our review, Tom Baines said:
“Not only is it a retro remake that’s actually not crap, it’s as good as the day it first came out and even holds its own against modern releases.”
Check out the mobile version’s new trailer, and just listen to that music.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap will be priced at £7.49 on all platforms. Players who pre-register via the Google Play Store will receive a 30% launch discount.
