Xbox One Deals with Gold

The latest crop of Xbox Deals with Gold includes one of the best games released in recent years.

I’ll make no apologies for the fact that Metroidvanias – sorry, I mean exploratory platformers – are one of my favourite video game genres.

An impressive recent example – perhaps only second to Team Cherry’s amazing Hollow Knight – is Steamworld Dig 2 from Image & Form. It’s a game packed with secrets, smart level design, clever power-ups, and a wonderful aesthetic. It also has a 50% price cut in the latest batch of Xbox Deals with Gold, and is highly recommended.

Other limited-time discounts are available on Creative Assembly’s spooky Alien: Isolation, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, and Xbox exclusive FPS, Halo 5: Guardians.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
