Xbox releases for February 21-25, 2022, including Elden Ring, new Destiny 2 content

Dark Light

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring headlines next week’s lineup of new Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One releases.

The combined talents of Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin are behind the week’s big Xbox release: the highly-anticipated Elden Ring. Given the talent behind the game, we expect the experience to be infuriatingly dense, but we’re also hopeful it will break out of the studio’s famed Souls-like formula and include a dash more humour than usual. We expect it to be a huge hit, regardless.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is the next expansion for Bungie’s acclaimed sci-fi shooter. This time, the story focuses on Savathûn, sister of Oryx, who you may remember from Destiny‘s fan-favourite add-on, The Taken King. The Witch Queen was slated for release last year but was pushed back due to the COVID pandemic. We’re pleased to see Bungie not crunch it out, and the result will hopefully be worth the wait for the million-plus players who have pre-ordered.

Other Xbox releases include Explosive Candy World, Grid Legends, and the loveably weird Tux and Fanny. We’ll update this page throughout the week with details of any late arrivals.
