Nintendo wins big at the 2018 DICE Awards, with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild taking home Game of the Year.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild picked up three awards at last night’s DICE Awards in Las Vegas. The Nintendo Switch and Wii U adventure won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, Adventure Game of the Year, and the coveted Game of the Year award.
It was a good night all round for Nintendo published games, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Snipperclips, and Metroid Samus Returns also winning awards. Snipperclips – which was developed by SFB Games – won both Family Game of the Year, and the DICE Sprite Award.
Elsewhere the marvellous Cuphead was recognised in the Music, Art Direction, and Animation categories, and PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn won the awards for Technical Achievement and Story.
The DICE Awards are voted on by the 30,000 members of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.
