Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sells more than any other game in the series at launch and breaks a PC sales record.
Following Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s strong UK debut – where it broke Call of Duty’s 13-year run of launch week No.1’s – Ubisoft has confirmed that the game sold more copies in its first week than any other Assassin’s Creed title in the same period.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is also a hit on Windows, giving the publisher its biggest PC launch ever, in part driven by “all-time record Ubisoft Store sales performance.”
Speaking about the game’s impressive start, Ubisoft producer Julien Laferrière says:
“We are truly delighted by the enthusiastic response from players and want to thank the fans for their incredible support. Delivering this game amid a global pandemic was a true tour de force by our teams and it’s fantastic to see players enjoying the game so much. Launch is only the beginning and we have robust content plans for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that will keep players immersed in their epic Viking saga for a long time to come.”
Ubisoft has also released some in-game numbers that demonstrate Valhalla‘s player engagement. Since launch, 55 million buildings have been unlocked, over 3.5 million games of Orlog have been won, and more than 1.8 million players have reigned triumphant in at least one drinking game.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Stadia, Amazon Luna, and Ubisoft+.
