Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is free to play on all platforms this weekend

Dark Light

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is currently free to play on PC, console, and game streaming services.

Ubisoft’s acclaimed Viking action RPG Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is free to play on all platforms for the next four days. And by all platforms, we mean PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, and even Amazon Luna.

It’s certainly a game worth playing. In our review, we called it a “fun but flawed new entry in Ubisoft’s iconic action franchise.”

We also mention its length, which is not short. Four days won’t be long enough to sample everything the game has to offer, but it should be sufficient to determine if you want to buy it. And if you do, all progress and achievements will transfer over to purchased copies.

The free play event arrives ahead of next month’s Dawn of Ragnarök expansion, which serves up another 40 hours of content. The DLC sees protagonist Eivor travel to the world of Svartalfheim to embrace their destiny as Odin, the Norse god of Battle and Wisdom. It’s a somewhat standalone adventure that starts players off at Power Level 340 with a predefined selection of weapons. Eivor can also harness godlike powers, turn into a raven, transform their skin into magma, and resurrect the dead as allies in combat. Good skills, as my grandma would say.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is free to download and play from today until February 28, 2022.
