Bubble Bobble 4 Friends

Taito announces that Bob and Bub will be jumping onto PlayStation 4 later this year in Bubble Bobble 4 Friends.

Following on from its debut on Nintendo Switch, the latest game in the Bubble Bobble series is now confirmed for a digital and physical release on PlayStation 4. The bad news is that it’s not due until the end of the year.

Published by Taito and ININ Games, Bubble Bobble 4 Friends adds a four-player co-op mode to the series for the first time and 100 new levels. The classic coin-op original is also included

The reason for the distant release date is likely due to the addition of even more new stages and game modes. Fan favourite villain Baron von Blubba will also be added to the game.

Owners of the Nintendo Switch version will be able to get the new content as part of a downloadable add-on pack.

To mark the news, a fan art contest is now running on the ININ Games website. Participants have until May 31 to submit a piece of art based on the Bubble Bobble series. The winning entry and nickname of its artist will be shown in the game’s credits.
