Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War takes No.1 in the UK video game chart.

The latest UK chart of physical software sales in the UK sees Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War take the top spot in its second week. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – the game that broke COD’s 13 year run of No.1 retail chart entries – falls three places to No.4.

There are three new entries with Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales swinging into third spot and Fortnite: The Last Laugh Bundle – which includes a bunch of V-Bucks and some DC cosmetics – charting at No.5. Nintendo Switch exclusive Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity debuts at No.6.

This flurry of activity bumps chart stalwarts Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Minecraft, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe down the the top ten.

Elsewhere, there are re-entries for Mortal Kombat 11 (in its Ultimate guise) at No.30 and Fallout 76 at No.31. Some big retail discounts also propel FIFA 20 back into the top forty at No.34.

This week is pretty quiet for new releases so it will be interesting to see which games will demonstrate staying power next week.
