Carrion, the upcoming monster horror game from Phobia Game Studio, will launch on Nintendo Switch in addition to PC and Xbox One this summer.

Devolver Digital has announced that Carrion, the self-proclaimed “disturbingly fleshy reverse-horror game” from Phobia Game Studio will be released this summer on Xbox One, PC, and, in a new development, the Nintendo Switch.

In Carrion, players take control of an amorphous being that must prey and consume the inhabitants of a mysterious facility. It’s a twist on the 2D action-platformer format that features stunning art direction and animation. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like a deliciously gory Metroidvania that will appeal to fans of Alien and John Carpenter’s The Thing.

The good news is that it’s summer right now, so hopefully, Carrion will be infiltrating our homes very soon. The 2020 Devolver Direct showcase planned for mid-July will likely confirm the game’s final release date.

Special Reserve is also releasing a physical version of the game on Nintendo Switch day-and-date with its eShop release. In the meantime, you can download a sneak peek of Carrion right now via Steam.
