11 Bit Studios and Dead Mage push the release of Children of Morta back by a month on Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch edition of Children of Morta – the hit roguelike RPG from Dead Mage – has had its release date pushed back from October 15 to November 20, 2019.
The news comes via a statement on the game’s official Twitter account explaining that the Switch version needs further work to improve its performance. The game will still be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 15 as planned.
In the statement, Dead Mage and publisher 11 Bit Studios say:
“There is no space for compromise in terms of quality. For gamers it means a bit more of waiting time, for us – more hard work which we’re glad to make. Because in the end, we all have the same goal – a fantastic game.”
Children of Morta was released on PC last month following a successful 2015 Kickstarter campaign that raised over $100,000. The game blends fantasy hack-and-slash mechanics with an enchanting story and its PC debut has been praised across the board by critics.
As ever, good games are always worth waiting for.
