YouTuber The Retro Future hooks a PlayStation 5 up to a Nintendo Game Boy Advance with impressive results.
Here’s one to file under weird but cool. Using an ageing peripheral, popular YouTuber The Retro Future has released a new video showing how a PS5 can be connected to a Game Boy Advance. Impressively, the PS5 is absolutely playable, despite the GBA only having a screen resolution of 240 × 160 pixels.
This piece of technical wizardry is achieved using the May Flash GBA A/V adapter, which – based on this Gadget Madness review – was released back in 2005.
The full video is a treat to watch, and it’s frankly amazing how good Astro’s Playroom looks, particularly on a Game Micro. Who needs 4K?
If you want to recreate this fun experiment, prepare to dig deep. The May Flash adapter is not cheap on the second-hand market, selling for over £100.
