Destiny 2 is the latest game to get a post-release free trial, and it’s available today.
If you’ve been on the fence about playing Destiny 2, or put off by some of the recent controversies surrounding its economy and endgame, you can now dip your MIDA Mini-Tool in the water with the game’s new free trial.
Destiny 2 is latest in a recent crop of titles – which also includes Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Project Cars 2 – to offer up a slice of gameplay for free, post release. In this case, it’s not a tactic to address mediocre sales – which have been excellent – more a case of Bungie following the same playbook used for the original Destiny release in 2014.
The free trial includes the beginning of Destiny 2‘s campaign and a limited competitive multiplayer mode. You can download the game on console via PlayStation Store or Xbox One Digital games store, or via Blizzard Battle.net on PC.
Here’s a new trial trailer to tempt your trigger finger.
In other news, tomorrow’s Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris expansion livestream has been postponed. Instead, Bungie has announced it will use the stream to address fan concerns, and detail the game’s upcoming updates.
