Bethesda have announced that Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is getting a free trial.
Players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC can now download and play the entire first level of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus for free.
As with other recent free trials – such as Ubisoft’s promotions for Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor – all progress is be saved and will carry over to the full version of the game, should players choose to upgrade. Unlike those trials, it seems that Wolfenstein II‘s trial is permanent.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus launched last month to widespread critical acclaim. However, it also had to share its October 27 release date with Assassin’s Creed Origins, and Super Mario Odyssey. It’s quite possible that this impacted sales, so the trial gives the game another chance find an audience, and should boost sales.
The game has also been nominated for Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Action Game at The Game Awards, with BJ Blazkowicz voice actor Brian Bloom also getting a nod in the Best Performance category.
