Here’s how to get your free download of the Legendary Pokémon Latias and Latios in Pokémon Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, and Ultra Moon.

The year-long celebration of Legendary Pokémon continues in September with Omega and Ruby‘s Latias and Latios free to download to Pokémon Ultra SunSunUltra Moon, and Moon on the Nintendo 3DS.

This time, players in North America will need to take a trip to Best Buy between September 2-29 to pick up a download code. Poké-players in Europe and Australia can get September’s Legendaries from the comfort of their own homes by downloading Latias and Latios directly from the Nintendo Network.

Here are the levels and moves for each of September’s Legendary distributions.

Latias

Pokémon Ultra Sun

  • Level: 100
  • Held Item: Gold Bottle Cap
  • Moves: Mist Ball, Psychic, Draco Meteor, Tailwind

Pokémon Sun

  • Level: 60
  • Ability: Mist Ball, Dragon Pulse, Psycho Shift, Wish

Latios

Pokémon Ultra Moon

  • Level: 100
  • Held Item: Gold Bottle Cap
  • Moves: Luster Purge, Psychic, Draco Meteor, Tailwind

Pokémon Moon

  • Level: 60
  • Moves: Luster Purge, Dragon Pulse, Psycho Shift, Dragon Breath

How to download Latias and Latios

  1. Charge up your 3DS, turn it on, and make sure you can connect to the internet.
  2. Load up either Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, or Ultra Moon, and select the ‘Mystery Gift’ option on the main menu.
  3. Select ‘Receive Gift’.
  4. You’ll be asked if it’s OK to open a Communication Channel, say ‘Yes’.
  5. Select ‘Get with Code/Password, or ‘Get via Internet’, depending on your region.
  6. Either enter the download code, or connect to the internet.
  7. Read Moby Dick to pass some time.
  8. When asked if you want to ‘Receive this gift?’ say ‘Yes’.
  9. Once received, your new Latias or Latios can be obtained from the delivery person in any Pokémon Center.
  10. Make sure you have a vacant spot in your party, and be sure to save your game!.
