Team17 has confirmed that indie incarceration game, The Escapists, is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.
The Escapists: Complete Edition will include the original game in full, plus all five DLC packs: Alcatraz, Escape Team, Duct Tapes are Forever, Santa’s Sweatshop, and Fhurst Peak Correctional Facility. The last pack was previously a PC-only release, and will make its console debut on Switch,
In total there are 15 prisons from which to plan your escape, ranging from the low-security Center Perk, through to the Stalag Flucht POW camp.
Yes, it’s another ageing indie coming to Switch, but it’s a solid game and comes highly recommended. Its sequel, The Escapists 2, is already available on the Nintendo eShop
The announcement follows two Nintendo Indie Highlights videos, timed to coincide with Gamescom and PAX West, that outlined an impressive lineup of indies releases coming to the Switch in 2018 and early 2019.
There are plenty more older games on the way – such as Bastion, Hyper Light Drifter, and Towerfall – but there are also some intriguing new titles to look forward to, including Samurai Gun 2, Zarvot, and Desert Child.
Team 17 has yet to confirmed a release date for The Escapists: Complete Edition.
