The PS4 Final Fantasy XII remaster is doing pretty well, and here’s some lovely new art to celebrate.

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age has shipped in excess of 1 million copies across retail and digital formats.

Announced last January and released in July, Final Fantasy XII was given a top-to-bottom makeover, with remastered HD graphics, a revised soundtrack, and an overhaul to its battle system.

Quality of life improvements, such as a new speed mode, auto-save functionality, and shortened loading times, also gave long-time fans a reason to return to the world of Ivalice.

The game’s producer, Hiroaki Kato, said in a press statement:

“Thank you to all the fans for helping us reach this milestone. We are overwhelmed with the response from both new players and fans of the original.”

To mark the game’s sales success, Square Enix has released a brand-new illustration by artist Isamu Kamikokuryo.
