The latest update for Fortnite Battle Royale adds gyro-based motion controls on PlayStation consoles and PC.

Although motion controls are something of a dirty word in some circles, there is no denying the positive impact they can have on games that require precise aiming. It’s something Nintendo fans have lauded for some time, so it’s good to see an increasing number of PlayStation titles supporting the feature as an optional control method.

The v19.30 update for Fortnite Battle Royale adds gyro – and Flick Stick – support for PS4, PS5, and PC. Epic has developed the new implementation in partnership with input specialist Julian “Jibb” Smart.

Additionally, the gyro controls already available for Nintendo Switch and Android devices have been enhanced.

Smart gives a helpful overview of the new control features in this video.

Players can enable or disable gyro controls in the Touch and Motion tab of Fortnite‘s settings menu.
