You’ll need very deep pockets if you want to get hold of all the Persona 5 DLC.
What a wild ride 2017 is proving to be for video games. We’ve already see the arrival of three stone-cold classics in the shape of Breath of the Wild, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Nioh, and now we have Persona 5 to add to the list. Atlus’ JRPG is receiving a rapturous reception with high-scores arriving from all corners.
Philip Kollar, writing at Polygon, says the game “successfully pushes this series to new heights of polish, allure and charm.”
Andrew Goldfarb, in his IGN review, captures the general consensus, saying that “it stands out as an extraordinary, memorable experience and easily one of the deepest JRPGs of the last decade.”
Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, Atlus are pushing the boat out with a stack of Persona 5 DLC planned for release through to the summer.
Upcoming content includes the game’s original Japanese audio, costume sets from previous Persona games, and a host of platform specific avatar and theme bundles. There’s also content scheduled based on Shin Megami Tensei IV and Catherine.
It’s all good stuff, but it doesn’t come cheap. If you want to buy everything you can expect to spend more than $125 (as well as needing a copy of the game on both PlayStation 3 and 4). That said, there’s a good range of free content on the way, too.
