Hitman 3 replaces Animal Crossing: New Horizons at No.1 in the UK video game charts.

It’s all change at the top in the latest UK video game charts as Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ three-week run at No.1 comes to an end at the hands of Hitman 3. It was a close contest, however. According to GI.biz, there were just 800 copies between the two games.

IO Interactive’s Hitman 3 debuts with 17% higher launch sales than 2018’s Hitman 2. It’s an impressive performance for an impressive game. In our review, Callum said it was a “staggeringly strong send-off” for the trilogy.

Nintendo’s dominance over the top ten loosens further with Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales swinging back up the chart to No.6. As a result, Super Mario 3D All-Stars exits the top ten, falling to No.11.

Elsewhere, Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War rises two places to No.5, with Ring Fit Adventure replacing it at No.7. And further down the chart, there are re-entries for Carnival Games at No.18 and Demon’s Souls at No.27.
