Here’s how to get your free download of Zekrom for Pokémon Sun or Ultra Sun, and Reshiram for Pokémon Moon or Ultra Moon
This year’s celebration of Legendary Pokémon continues with the release of Reshiram and Zekrom.
In Europe and Australia, both Legendaries will be available to download via the Nintendo Network between October 5-21, 2018. Players in Canada can get access via a code in October’s Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter, which is due to be sent later this month.
Unfortunately, fans in the U.S. will have to head down to their local Target store between October 19-28 to pick up a free download code.
Here are the levels, moves, items, and abilities for each of October’s Legendary Pokémon.
Reshiram
Pokémon Ultra Moon
- Level: 100
- Held Item: Gold Bottle Cap
- Ability: Turboblaze
- Moves:Fusion Flare, Blue Flare, Draco Meteor,Earth Power
Pokémon Moon
- Level: 60
- Ability:Turboblaze
- Moves:Slash, Extrasensory, Fusion Flare, Dragon Pulse
Zekrom
Pokémon Ultra Sun
- Level: 100
- Held Item: Gold Bottle Cap
- Ability: Teravolt
- Moves:Fusion Bolt, Bolt Strike, Outrage, Stone Edge
Pokémon Sun
- Level: 60
- Ability: Teravolt
- Moves: Slash, Zen Headbutt, Fusion Bolt, Dragon Claw
How to download Reshiram and Zekrom
- Charge up your Nintendo 3DS, turn it on, and make sure you can connect to the internet.
- Load up either Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, or Ultra Moon, and select the ‘Mystery Gift’ option on the main menu.
- Select ‘Receive Gift’.
- You’ll be asked if it’s OK to open a Communication Channel, say ‘Yes’.
- Select ‘Get with Code/Password, or ‘Get via Internet’, depending on your region.
- Either enter the download code, or connect to the internet.
- When asked if you want to ‘Receive this gift?’ say ‘Yes’.
- Once received, Reshiram or Zekrom can be obtained from the delivery person loitering in any Pokémon Center.
- Make sure you have a vacant spot in your party, and be sure to save your game!.
Next month you can look forward to grabbing Ho-Oh and Lugia.
