Tokyo RPG Factory’s forthcoming RPG, Lost Sphear, now has a free demo on console and PC.

RPG fans can get a taste of Tokyo RPG Factory’s latest game in a free demo now available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Lost Sphear is the studio’s second release, following on from 2016’s warmly received I am Setsuma. The demo introduces players to protagonist Kanata and his friends, and shows off the game’s Artefacts system, character unique Paradigm Drive attacks, and some nifty looking mechs.

Lost Sphear has its full release in a little over a month, coming to Switch, PS4 and PC via Steam on January 23, 2018.

The game will also receive a limited physical release on console, available from the Square Enix online store. Players who pre-order the game will receive two music tracks from composer Tomoki Miyoshi as a launch day gift.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
