Mario and Zelda are getting VR modes on Switch
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey are getting virtual reality modes.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey are getting virtual reality modes via Nintendo Labo.
Nintendo has announced that two beloved Nintendo Switch games will be receiving VR modes following next week’s release of Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04 – VR Kit.
Both games will be compatible with the Labo’s self-assembly Toy-Con VR goggles, with Super Mario Odyssey getting a bunch of bite-sized bonus games that will take players back to the Cap, Seaside, and Luncheon Kingdoms.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild VR experience looks to be more substantial, with – based on the short teaser trailer – the entire game playable in full.

It remains to be seen quote how impressive these modes will be – and how exhausting – but it’s another sign that Nintendo is taking VR seriously. The new Nintendo Labo VR kits will be available on April 12, with both games receiving their free updates on April 25, 2019.

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. But it's hard to do that in the current financial climate. If you'd like to help us fund these aims, you could always buy the team a cup of coffee.
