Capcom has announced a new drop of free content for hit action RPG Monster Hunter Rise.

A new free content update for Monster Hunter Rise has been revealed by Capcom. The DLC adds weapons and armour specifically designed to help “beginner players” prepare for the upcoming Sunbreak Expansion.

The Defender Weapons set features a full suite of 14 high damage weapons configured to make hunting early-game monsters an easier task. The Black Belt armour set has higher defence capabilities and a skill that increases the amount of health you can recover. A Veterans Talisman is also included.

Although designed for beginners, both sets can be upgraded to become even more powerful and used throughout the game.

After updating Monster Hunter Rise to Version 3.9, players can claim the weapons and armours sets from the courier in Kamura Village.

The free update will launch for PC and Nintendo Switch on February 24, 2022.

The paid Sunbreak expansion – which adds new locations, gameplay elements and quest ranks – is planned for release this summer.
