Motion Twin speak about the making of Dead Cells – and its upcoming DLC – in a new behind-the-scenes video.

The short documentary – which is produced by the folks at Red Bull Gaming – takes a detailed look at life at the Bordeaux-based studio. It charts Motion Twin’s journey from developing casual games to releasing one of last year’s most beautifully tricky and highly rated titles.

The 12-minute video reveals how Dead Cells began life as a “really boring” multiplayer strategy game, before evolving into a roguelike, and becoming a commercial hit on PC and console. It’s a delight from start to finish, and features footage from the upcoming Rise Of The Giant DLC.

Rise Of The Giant will add two new zones, plus new enemies, bosses, weapons, and character skins. The free expansion was recently in beta, and is set for release in March.

The game recently received a big console patch, which included a significant number of changes, and upgraded the Nintendo Switch version to run at a silky smooth 60fps.
