Pre-orders for physical copies of a brand new Nintendo Game Boy game are now live.
Spacebot Interactive has opened pre-orders for a new unofficial Game Boy release from indie developer and artist, -IZMA-.
Deadeus is a brand new horror adventure created using Chris Maltby’s acclaimed GB Studio engine. The game follows the story of a child plagued by a nightmare predicting the death of everyone in his village. Players can approach the game in multiple ways to uncover the truth behind the dreams and reach one of 11 different endings.
We’re rather charmed by the idea of a lo-fi horror game delivered through the Game Boy’s 160×144 pixel display. The graphics echo the Pokémon series, but with a slightly macabre twist. And, from what we’ve heard, composer Stuart Busby’s music further enhances the oft-kilter atmosphere.
Deadeus will be released on a physical cartridge in a box that imitates the Game Boy packaging of yore. Naturally, a manual is included. The game is fully compatible with all Game Boy and Game Boy Advance systems and costs £42/$57.44/€46.72. Head over to the Spacebot Interactive website for more details.
Spacebot Interactive’s previous release – the adventure-RPG Dragonborne – recently sold out its first two physical runs. Luckily, it’s also available to purchase a downloadable ROM.
