Just when you thought it was safe to visit the PlayStation Store, Maneater surfaces on PlayStation 4. Here’s this week’s lineup of new PS4 releases.
We’ve been looking forward to Tripwire Interactive’s ‘sharkPG’ since we caught our first glimpse of it back at 2018’s PC Gaming Show. Maneater puts players in the, erm, shoes of a baby bull shark out to avenge the death of its mother. Ecco the Dolphin it isn’t.
It’s a comically violent game with a shark tongue placed firmly in its cheek, exemplified by in-game narration from 30 Rock‘s Chris Parnell.
A couple of older games are receiving reissues and remasters this week. PlatinumGames’ The Wonderful 101 was an early Wii U darling, but also a massive flop. Its Kickstarter-backed release on Nintendo Switch, PC, and PS4 should bring it to a wider audience.
The new THQ also continues to tinker with its back catalogue, this time with an updated version of Saints Row: The Third. It’s a flawed game at its heart, but the remaster looks gorgeous, and if you’re looking for an open-world experience that requires little more than an instinct for chaos, you should have a good time.
Other new releases include Golf With Your Friends, the Gunman Clive HD Collection, and A Fold Apart.
