Dark Light

Where the Heart Leads tops this week’s lineup of new PlayStation Store releases for the PS4 and PS5.

There’s a noticeably quiet week ahead on the PlayStation Store, with just a smattering of new PS4 and PS5 games confirmed for release as we go to press.

Narrative adventure Where the Heart Leads is the standout. The game’s visual design is intricate, beautiful, and evocative. If the choice-based gameplay and story also measure up, this could be something special. Developer Armature cites games like Oxenfree and Xenogears as influences, as well as the works of Wes Anderson, David Lynch, and Nicolas Winding Refn.

F1 2021 is the latest entry in Codemasters’ accomplished racing simulation series and the first to be published by Electronic Arts. We don’t expect EA to have had much influence on this year’s edition, so another immersive and microscopically detailed experience is pretty much guaranteed.

Elsewhere, Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials is an enjoyable slice of action-adventure puzzling. Updated cyberpunk thriller Observer: System Redux – which is already available on PS5 – comes to PS4, and there’s new content for the acclaimed brawler Streets of Rage 4.

We’ll keep this page updated with any last-minute additions throughout the week.
