Nintendo eShop Releases

The Escapists 2 and Super Meat Boy head this week’s lineup of eShop releases for the Nintendo Switch, 3DS and Wii U.

After a relatively quiet start to the year the Nintendo eShop shifts up a gear with a tasty selection of new games arriving this week.

Our picks are Team 17’s The Escapists 2, which we loved on PS4, and look forward to replaying in handheld mode. It’s joined by Never Stop Sneakin’, an inventive and affectionate take on late ’90s stealth games from Dean Dodrill, creator of Dust: An Elysium Tail.

Also coming to the eShop this week is the – slightly over-priced – Nintendo Switch edition of Super Meat Boy. The game is an all-time indie classic, and its quality undiminished by the passage of time. Its release comes ahead of Super Meat Boy Forever, which is due later this year.

Here’s the full Nintendo eShop release list.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
