Dark Light

There’s a small but surprisingly decent line-up of games coming to the Nintendo eShop this week.

The big game of the week is Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, which comes to the Nintendo 3DS four short months after the Western release of its predecessor, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.

For many it’s the pinnacle of the series and its release continues to solidify the 3DS as the console of choice for fans of Japanese Role Playing Games. The only problem is finding time to cram them all in.

Also released is the spooky puzzle adventure Toby: The Secret Mine, which comes to Wii U, and Colour Cubes, a frantic puzzle game exclusively for the New Nintendo 3DS.

This Thursday also sees a demo for the forthcoming Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World flutter jump onto the 3DS. The Wii U original was a game I really enjoyed so it’s good to see it have the opportunity to reach a wider audience on Nintendo’s handheld. Let’s hope the conversion is up to scratch.
