Spelunky 2 and No More Heroes III headline this week’s list of Nintendo Switch eShop releases.
More than 30 games are coming to the Nintendo Switch this week, but as we know, quantity doesn’t always mean quality.
The return of Travis Touchdown in No More Heroes III is the big new Switch release. It’s another action-adventure hack and slash adventure that will likely please and infuriate players in equal measure. It will be interesting to see if the return to an open-world format is successful. At worst, the game seems destined to become another cult favourite.
We have no qualms in calling Spelunky and Spelunky 2 genuine classics, however. Derek Yu’s roguelike platformers are widely acclaimed for good reason. Both games are masterpieces of design and execution. And to reuse that hoary old saying, they’re a perfect fit for Switch.
Another highlight is Secret Neighbor, the multiplayer social horror game set in the Hello Neighbour universe.
Other new Nintendo Switch eShop releases of note include King’s Bounty II, The Magnificent Trufflepigs, and Inked: A Tale of Love. We’ll update this page with any surprise additions throughout the week.
