New Nintendo Switch releases (December 28, 2020 – January 1, 2021)

Dark Light

This week’s lineup of new Nintendo Switch eShop releases includes a digital version of an excellent board game and an indie game showcase.

As you might expect, there’s a shorter than usual list of games coming to the Nintendo Switch this week, but two titles do jump out.

First up is Wingspan, the digital version of Stonemaier’s award-winning board game. Wingspan translates well to the video game format – it’s already available on PC – and among its many pleasures is some magnificent avian artwork. It’s an accessible and delightful strategy experience for up to five players.

Another highlight is Fuze Player, a new app that plays games created using the Fuze4 development tool. The app costs a dollar and includes day-one access to 27 games from the Fuze Showcase Gallery. Highlights include Asteroid Navigator, Vecroids, and a wonderful recreation of the Oliver Twins classic, Fast Food Dizzy.

One of the best things about Fuze Player is the ability to view each game’s base code to see how it was made. And if you want to develop games yourself, the feature-packed Fuze4 programming tool is already available to download from the Nintendo eShop.

Other new Nintendo Switch releases include Void Source, The Innsmouth Case, Arcade Archives Shanghai III. We’ll update this page throughout the week with any late additions.
