An indie classic and a promising RPG are among this week’s crop of new Nintendo Switch eShop releases.
It’s hard to believe that it’s taken so long for Thomas Was Alone to come to the Nintendo Switch. Mike Bithell’s 2012 minimalist platformer is an excellent game on any system, but it always felt most at home on the PS Vita. With Sony’s handheld long defunct, the Switch now becomes the best place to unite Thomas and friends.
Another highlight is YummyYummyTummy’s ambitious action RPG sequel, Fallen Legion Revenants. The tactical battles look spectacular, but we expect the game’s reputation will live or die by its branching narrative and moral quandaries.
Other new Nintendo Switch releases include comedy narrative adventure Astrologaster and #Drive, a super stylish endless driving game inspired by 1970s action movies. Four more games also join the Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES libraries.
Switch owners excited for the release of King of Seas will have to be patient a for a little longer. Developer 3Dclouds has announced that the game will now be released in May.
