The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening headlines a stellar week of new video game releases on the Nintendo Switch.

It’s hard to know where to start with this week’s crop of excellent new Nintendo Switch releases, so hold tight. Classic XBLA beat ‘em up, Castle Crashers, gets the remaster treatment, and there’s an extremely promising port of Codemasters racer, Grid Autosport. Later in the week, Capcom continues its drip-feed of reissues with Devil May Cry 2, and Level-5’s terrific RPG, Ni No Kuni Remastered: Wrath of the White Witch, also makes its debut on a Nintendo console.

Two classic handheld games also get Switch outings, starting with Infinite Interactive ’s influential match-three RPG, Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns. The big release of the week, however, is the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. We already know how good the gameplay is, and the adorable new visuals only help cement the game’s status as an all-time classic.

However, it’s not all about old games getting a fresh lick of paint. Simogo’s music video racing adventure, Sayonara Wild Hearts, and House House’s Untitled Goose Game are both examples of imaginative new experiences that are sure to find fans.

The Fortnite – Batman Caped Crusader Pack is also confirmed for release on Saturday at 2PM CEST.

Here’s the full lineup of new releases.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
