Super Mario Maker 2, Dandy Dungeon, and Virtua Racing headline this week’s roster of new releases on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
There’s a jam-packed week ahead on the Nintendo Switch, so let’s crack on with a look at some of the most notable new games. The big new release is Super Mario Maker 2, the follow-up to the 2015 Wii U hit. The sequel adds a bunch of new features, items, and modes, plus a suite of (mostly) improved online features.
Another title worth a look is Dandy Dungeon from Onion Games. The quirky RPG was a cult hit on mobile, and comes to Switch with rebalanced gameplay mechanics. It’s bizarre, clever, and lots of fun, although its micro-transactions have been replaced by a fairly steep price tag.
Also released this week is the original Devil May Cry (not the HD Collection, unfortunately), and two new Sega Ages games. Wonder Boy in Monster Land is always recommended, but the highlight is Virtua Racing. The game looks sublime and features a wealth of improvements, plus support for online and local multiplayer.
Finally, Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night comes to Nintendo Switch a week after its release on other platforms. Let’s hope this version is up to scratch as the game has so far been positively received.
Here’s the full lineup of new Nintendo eShop releases. We’ll add any additional titles as they are confirmed throughout the week.

We hate to ask, but...
Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
