This week’s lineup of new Nintendo Switch eShop releases includes two classic detective tales and two sci-fi survival games.
For all the occasions Nintendo frustrates fans, it can always dig deep into its history to bring back something unexpected. Star Fox 2, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, and EarthBound Beginnings are prime examples. Two more games to add to that list are Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind and Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir.
Released for the Famicom Disk System in 1988, these two R&D1-developed murder mystery games never made it to the west. They come to Nintendo Switch as ground-up remakes with stylish anime graphics.
Acclaimed sci-fi survival game Subnautica – and its follow-up Subnautica: Below Zero – also come to Nintendo Switch this week. The first game was an instant hit on its full 2018 release and should be a great experience on Switch if the port is up to the task. The sequel builds on the first game with more environments to explore and an increased narrative emphasis.
