Collection of Mana - Nintendo Switch
Square Enix

Looking for an RPG to play on Nintendo Switch? The Square Enix eShop sale is packed with classic role playing video games.

Long-time RPG players might want to take a trip down memory lane with Collection of Mana, which is a compilation of the first three Mana games. The collection includes Trials of Mana, the previously unreleased Western version of Seiken Densetsu 3. The 2019 remake of that game – also titled Trials of Mana – is available separately.

A slew of Final Fantasy games also get tempting discounts. Final Fantasy VII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are our recommendations.

If you’re looking for something newer, a trio of games from Tokyo RPG Factory are also worth consideration. I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear, and Oninaki are all solid adventures that blend old and new role-playing mechanics.

And if the Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest XI was your first experience of the series, why not go back to where it all started with the updated port of the very first game and its sequel.

The Square Enix eShop sale runs to August 2, 2020. Here’s the full lineup of discounted games. Go forth and adventure.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
