Dark Light

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Hypnospace Outlaw and Vader Immortal are among this week’s new PlayStation 4 and PS VR video game releases.

Although all eyes are on PlayStation 5 and the next generation of video games, there’s still plenty to enjoy on PS4, as this week’s lineup of new releases shows.

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series gives PS VR its biggest release in some time. It’s a relatively small scale adventure, but all the more impressive for it. Standing toe-to-toe with Darth Vader is a thrilling, chilling experience.

The remastered version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will hopefully give a much loved, but sometimes overlooked, Nintendo GameCube classic a new lease of life. The visuals get an upgrade, and cross-play online multiplayer means you can leave your Game Boy Advance (and the cables) in the attic.

Other new releases include Tendershot’s sharply observed 1990s internet browser game, Hypnospace Outlaw, Wasteland 3, and the deluxe edition of Project Cars 3. The standard version is due on August 28.

Oh, and there’s Madden NFL 21 game from EA Sports.

We’ll update this post throughout the week as we get confirmation of any late additions.
