Dark Light

This week’s new PlayStation 4 releases include Watch Dogs Legion, Ghost Runner, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV.

The first in a glut of massive open-world games arrives this week with a trip to London in Watch Dogs Legion. It’s the most ambitious game in the series yet, and although we’re keeping our expectations in check, we’re excited to visit a digital recreation of a city we know so well. We’re not so hot on the funky dystopian tone, but the new “play as anyone” game mechanic is intriguing. (For more digital tourism, read our feature on the representation of Britain in video games.)

A sizeable chunk of our audience will also be looking forward to Nihon Falcom RPG, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV. The game arrives in the West two years after its Japanese debut. It was extremely well-reviewed in 2018, and we expect that fans of the series – if they haven’t played it already – will find their patience rewarded.

Other new games hitting PSN this week include The Dark Pictures Anthology – Little Hope, Pacer, and Auto Chess.

Here’s the full lineup of new PS4 releases. And don’t forget to read our roundups of this week’s new Xbox One and Nintendo Switch games.
