Sony has confirmed the two free games available to PlayStation Plus subscribers in September 2019.

September’s free PlayStation Plus games bring a little darkness to the end of summer.

First up is Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Knight. The game’s reputation has dropped a little in recent years – especially in the wake of Insomniac’s Spider-Man – but I’m here to remind you that it remains one of the best superhero games ever made. Its cast of characters are a delight – including one of Mark Hamill’s best turns as the Joker – and the intricate open world is a thrill to explore. And if anyone moans about the Batmobile, we’ll spray you with shark repellent.

The Dark Knight is joined by the third game in the apocalyptic Darksiders series. Fury is the star this time around, in an adventure that blends environmental puzzles, hack and slash combat, and some fun magical abilities.

Both games will be available to download on PlayStation 4 from September 3, 2019.
