Sony has revealed August’s lineup of free PlayStation Plus games.

August’s free PS Plus games have been confirmed, and it’s another solid selection of excellent titles.

On PlayStation 4, subscribers can look forward to playing Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, the standalone companion piece to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It’s a marvellous distillation of everything that was good about Black Flag, and is easily digestible if you’re looking for something to keep your blades sharp until Assassin’s Creed Origins arrives in October.

Also available on PlayStation 4 are Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause 3, and That’s You, the first game for Sony’s new PlayLink platform.

Another highly recommended game from August’s PlayStation Plus lineup can be found on Vita. Downwell started life on mobile  – and is perhaps best played there – but the PlayStation Vita port is solid, and the game as addictive as ever.

All seven PS Plus games will be available for subscribers to download from August 1st, 2017.
