Sony’s PlayStation Plus Open Multiplayer Event begins this week.

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Plus Open Multiplayer Event will run from November 15th-20th, 2017.

The event will allow all PlayStation 4 owners without an active PlayStation Plus membership to play online multiplayer titles for free.

Players will be able to join online games as soon as the event begins, and will not need to sign up with a credit card, or commit to an ongoing PS Plus subscription.

It’s a well-timed promotion, with recent releases such as Call of Duty: WWII, Destiny 2, and FIFA 18, plus the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II, all boasting substantial online components.

Unfortunately, the event doesn’t cover other PS Plus perks – such as the monthly free games, and extra PlayStation Store discounts – but it’s a very welcome promotion nonetheless.

Sony will be hoping that participants enjoy themselves so much that they upgrade to a full PS Plus subscription once the event ends.

Let us know what games you’re tempted to try out in the comments below.
