Star Wars: Republic Commando and Oddworld: Soulstorm headline this week’s lineup of new PlayStation Store releases for the PS4 and PS5.

There’s a strong science fiction theme running through the pick of this week’s PlayStation releases. The highlight is Aspyr’s remastered version of Star Wars: Republic Commando. We were impressed with last year’s update of Star Wars Episode 1: Racer and look forward to seeing what the studio achieves with a much better – and much loved – game.

Another old favourite is more significantly reworked in Oddworld: Soulstorm. The game is billed as a re-imagining of 1998’s Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus, which should make it an interesting experience for long-term fans, and a good introduction to the Oddworld universe for newcomers.

Other new PS4 and PS5 releases include sci-fi survival game Breathedge and the Rhianna Pratchett-penned narrative adventure Lost Words: Beyond the Page.

We’ll update this post throughout the week with any late additions. Here is the full PlayStation Store release lineup.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
