The Global Water Festival in-game event comes to Pokémon GO today.
Water-way to have a good time. Niantic and The Pokémon Company have announced that the Global Water Festival event will start today at 1PM PDT. Once the event begins trainers will be much more likely to encounter Water-type Pokémon such Squirtle, Totodile, and everyone’s favourite, Magikarp. Their respective evolutions will also be included and there’s the possibility of encountering a rare Lapras, too.
There’s also an increased chance of bumping into the Johto region Water-types that were recently added to the game and were originally introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver. The event also adds some a new piece of attire with access to a new avatar wardrobe item, the Magikarp Hat.
You have to commend Niantic in how they are keeping the game alive with a constant drip-feed of events and content updates. Previous in-game events have included the Halloween and Valentine’s Day celebrations, and various double XP and Stardust promotions. The Pokémon Go Global Water Festival runs for the next week, ending on March 29, 2017, at 1PM PDT.
See you down by the river.
If you have somehow managed to avoid playing Pokémon GO, you can download the game right now from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
